Veil of the Desert

This work explores light, texture and presence through a veiled figure, inspired by the sculptural qualities of desert textiles and the quiet intensity of the human gaze. Layers of colour and gesture evoke both movement and stillness, with the fabric acting as both concealment and form.

The composition focuses on the interplay between light and material, where folds of cloth become expressive structures, carrying subtle shifts in tone and colour. Pastel on paper, 40 W x 60 L cm
